Obituary

Maureen A. Poulin, 69, of Chaplin, wife of the late Daniel P. Poulin Sr., died Thursday September 28, 2017, at her home surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born October 27, 1947 in Hartford, CT, daughter of Robert and Martha (Jacko) Armstrong, she was raised in Willimantic. Maureen enjoyed cooking and baking and her home was open to all who needed a table to sit at or an ear to listen. She also loved her crafts and made many treasures. For many years, she owned her own hair salon, His and Her Hair Care. Maureen was employed at Phalo in Manchester after she stopped cutting hair. In her late 50’s early 60’s she went to college to get her degree in Early Childhood Education. Prior to becoming ill, Maureen was a preschool teacher at Windham Willimantic Childcare, a job and children she treasured. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mom to all.

Maureen is survived by her children, Roberta and Kevin Chapel, Daniel (Skip) Poulin Jr. and his girlfriend Brenda Baribeault-Davis, James and Tina Poulin, Neil and Marti-Ann Martins; grandchildren, Tito, Rachal, Nick, Karlee-Ann, Hunter, Malikai, Savannah, Noah, Trinity, Luca, Angeleah and Camden. She was thought of as a mom and grandma to many children in the area.
