Obituary

Stuart Jay Shapiro, who passed away on August 30th in Longview was born and raised in a small town in Southeast Connecticut into a family whose ancestors came from Eastern Europe, Poland, Austria, and Russia. He attended Willimantic, CT public schools and high school where he excelled in the Debating Club and was a Member of the National Honor Society. He went on to earn a BA degree from the University of Connecticut where he also received a law degree.
Stuart was said to follow the beat of his own drum. And he did; whether it was not following social expectations or not charging clients who came to him for legal help. He also learned Spanish so he could help out in a children’s program in his hometown. Though Stuart liked his solitude, anyone who spoke with him knew he was a friendly, kind, and caring man. He loved nothing better than being in his country home, sitting and watching the wildlife and abundant green scenery.
He leaves his sister, Evy McDade in Del Ray, Florida and the entire Orozco Family of Longview, WA who cared for him in his final days.
