Elizabeth (McKitis) Brancato, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Dec 18, 2020 of heart
failure. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Barbara (O'Donnell) McKitis.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her son Christopher Brancato and his wife Sherry,
and her daughter Anais Woodard, and two grandchildren. She is survived by her sister
Barbara Juhas and her husband Jim, brother Michael McKitis and his wife Joan, sisters
Suzanne McKitis, and Alicia Tremper and her husband Rob, 6 nieces and nephews and
great nieces and nephews. Elizabeth had many passions in her life, including
gardening, volunteering with literacy programs and standing up against social injustices.
After retirement from IBM, Elizabeth moved to Tucson, where she volunteered at the
Desert Museum as an aquatic interpreter. She loved the Tucson Mountains, and spent
much time exploring the area. Known as Poobah to all the kids, she adored them all and
treasured the time she spent with them. No memorial services are planned. In lieu of
flowers donations can be made to The Desert Museum or Feeding America.
