First Fridays

While primarily focused on Willimantic area Windham High School graduates of the class of 1965, 1st Friday gatherings have grown in popularity and scope. Initially focused on just Class of 1965 graduates, the gatherings now include other classes and other local schools as well. The gatherings were initially held at the Trolley Pub in Willimantic, then moved to the Bidwell Tavern in South Coventry before settling in on the Windham Club in North Windham. Tom Heinonen, a member of our Class of `65, came up with the idea a few years following our successful 2015 50 year class reunion. The first 1st Friday was held on June 1 2018 at the Trolley Pub in Willimantic.Tom schedules and organizes these informal gatherings, emailing attendees and maintaining a FaceBook page focused on 1st Fridays. Classmates who live outside the Willimantic area frequently adjust their travel plans to Connecticut to include the opportunity to attend.
